Asimov Solensan is the main villain from the first episode of Cowboy Bebop. He uses a drug referred to as "Red eye", which enhances his fighting ability. In the episode, he is unable to beat Spike in hand to hand combat, which can be attributed to Spike's use of a better fighting style and the symptoms of the prolonged use of Red Eye. It should be noted however that Asimov nearly killed Spike, deeming him to be suspicious but this is prevented due to the pleadings of his beautiful partner in crime.

He is killed by this woman, as she watches him degenerate into an unstable and warped looking monster of a man, after continuous red eye use. It is almost as though she is putting the red eyed coyote down out of pity and out of love for the man Asimov was, not the man he became after using red eye.

Asimov's appearance seems to be inspired by Antonio Banderas' Mariachi character from the movie Desperado. Both men have long hair, brown skin, dress in dark clothes, travel with a beautiful hispanic woman and are able to defeat a bar full of dangerous henchmen sent to kill them. His appearance degenerates after continuous red eye use.
